We at TCA are here to detail yet another blow to the already tarnished Anfi,  Tauro Beach project. Following on from our article published on 10th of August 2016 we can now inform our readers of the outcome of these cases, which are beginning to roll in for the highly influential people involved.

Back in early October, the first prosecution in this case was handed to the former head of the Canarian Coastal Authority, José Maria Hernandez. He has been charged with two offences at this time in the form of administrative malfeasance (public wrongdoing) and also forgery of official documents.

These charges were brought after an investigation into anomalies exposed by the Guardia Civil into the licences and approvals Hernandez granted Anfi for the project. The permissions allowed Anfi to create a manmade beach, along with other amenities on the site but since the work began, as previously documented by us, the fall out of these alterations to the coastline are hitting the locals with devastating flooding to their properties.

Now under investigation is Onalia Bueno, the Mayor of Mogan. He is being investigated for committing unlawful acts by granting expired licences to Anfi to allow them to begin their regeneration project at the Tauro Beach site.

Here lies within the root of the problem, had these licences NOT been granted the development work that has already been carried out to the coastline and wave break would not have been possible and therefore would have saved countless local residences the problems they now face every time the tide changes. Many, if not all of these residents have now lodged formal complaints with the Guardia Civil in connection to the damage created by this lack of judgement.

One thinks the planning permissions and legal approvals provided by the authorities pertaining to this project may have been falsified from the get go. With these conclusions so far it is looking more and more like this project is to be postponed for the immediate future.
