Anfi boss Cazorla is set to leave Anfi Sales SL for good.  Santiago Santano Cazorla is 50% shareholder of the Anfi Group, and is set to sell up and leave.  Cazorla himself, puts this down to a change of direction of his business interests, and change of scenery for himself.  He is planning to move to Morocco.   However, it is known industry wide that there are other underlying issues behind the move.

We here at the TCA have been reporting constantly over the past few months with regards to Anfi’s issues with mounting court cases against them.  The group has been in murky water with respect to so many clients taking them through a legal battle due to null and void contracts, and are winning, over and over again.

Anfi has seen this hit them pretty hard, along with the problems with the Tauro Beach project over the last couple of months and the speculation that there has been meddling with the plans to push it through quicker, causing a lot of initial problems and putting the project to a halt, with investigations into corruption being raised.  This is just one more money pit, and another reason for Cazorla to bail on Anfi.

However, it is not just the recent events that have pushed the president of the company to make this decision, he has had quite a few disputes with the other main shareholder, his brother Manuel, with regards to the Anfi Tauro Project.  Carzola was brought into Anfi by his brother to help fund this project.  However, the Lyngs (Norwegian shareholders of Anfi Group) asked for his resignation in 2010 after noticing that there was a filter of around 9 million euros from Anfi Resorts into the Cazorla Construction company.  This sparked a huge court case, but Cazorla stayed on at Anfi at this stage.

There will be no love lost between the partners at Anfi if Cazorla does indeed take the big step, and it seems there is already a buyer lined up for his 50% of the company.  Alfonso Morales is rumoured to be the buyer, he owns Binter Canarias, the Canarian Airline and also has a great friendship with the Director General of Anfi Resorts, Jose Luis Trujillo.

What we are interested to know is how this will affect Anfi Resorts as a whole, it seems that Cazorla is running away from his actions of corruption and deceit to start a new life in Morocco.  How will current owners be affected, if at all.  Is this just another step for Anfi to defend their actions?  Once the TCA find out any other information with regards to Cazorla’s exit, and the consequences, we will be sure to publish here.
