I have to say, Rachael and I love these road shows and meeting likeminded people who just want what they paid for.

There has been a vast amount of information exchanged at the events so far, including exit strategies, litigation and group actions, your legal rights concerning fixed and floating weeks (points systems included), making the best of your timeshare through an exchange company and many more topics. Information will be forthcoming when it is all collected but if you have been unable to attend any of our meetings, please call the office for any advice you may need.

In Aberdeen we had the privilege to meet Alex, a man who is a spiritual mentor and a man I am truly pleased to know. Alex has quietness, and honour which is hard found today. He has a keen eye for detail and love for his fellow timeshare owners, which is not just astonishing but spectacular in a meek mist.

In Stirling the fire burned as we met and had the privilege to meet some great spirited, fair, reasonable and most of all determined souls. The roadshow commenced with the usual speeches and questions, then on it took a path of its own and the attendees, in truth, contributed more than the TCA. Pride swelled in me as the united attendees of Stirling roused to right a wrong which plagues the timeshare industry.

In Newcastle, well that was a treat. Despite it being a small event we had the privilege to meet a chairman of an independent resort and a resort which broke away from the grip of MRL, a man who steers determination and a right for the betterment of others.

People continually ask me why I do what I do, and I have to say, you can’t buy what I get out of this.

To actually get to meet people with such spirit, love, devotion, empathy and steely determination is reward enough. No matter what salary any institution have given or offered me in the past, nothing equals the drenching you get from meeting the people I have met whilst being manager of the TCA.

The roadshow went to the Leeds venues and it was very well attended. Leeds was quite different and there was a large selection of people who represented different resorts and with different challenges. I have to say at the end of the day we were bushed. Bushed is the right word as we left like our brains had been dragged backwards though the bush and we learnt a lot and hope we passed on a lot.

Leeds will always be special as a certain lady has started her own group against “Lake View, Cornwall”. The savvy will know that this resort is chaired by the most prolific chairperson of all committees’ members, as he runs the organisation which appoints people to timeshare committees i.e TATOC.

Leeds, more than others, just reinforces your thoughts that the mission is a just one.

I have to say that at every event we have been assisted by UKRE, the independent exchange company who operates out of Perth, Scotland. Ann Blyth at UKRE has driven hundreds of miles in pursuit of her beliefs that the consumers ought to have choice, ought to have the cold truths explained and should be left to enjoy what they acquired. Ann has agreed to also attend Manchester, where we again will invite her to explain the exchange industry.

We now return to Manchester which is expected to be the largest group on the Roadshows. The last time the TCA were asked to attend Manchester and address consumers there were over 160 attendees. All speakers are looking forward to the event.

From Manchester the TCA move on to Cheltenham and invade the south of England. I hope that those Roadshows are equally attended.
