An unnamed British owner from Portsmouth has said he felt “wonderful” to finally achieve a successful claim against his timeshare.

The previous timeshare owner, agreed that he felt far less stressed as he no longer has the burden and increasing maintenance fees to worry about, after he was awarded £13,006 in compensation for his 2 bed floating week at Wyndham Resorts & Hotels timeshare in Orlando, Florida.

With more and more timeshare owners realising that they may now be eligible for a compensation claim due to the changes in law made by the Spanish Supreme Court the timeshare compensation industry in the UK has seen a huge rise in the amount of enquiries they are getting with some companies receiving hundreds every week.

Although it is the Spanish courts that have made the most changes and rulings it is benefitting timeshare owners worldwide as it is not limited to just those who have purchased a timeshare within Spain but also for other European destinations and the US.

For this happy owner he only started the case in March 2016 with a timeshare contract specialist company and by December 2016 the compensation had been finalised in his favour due to the way in which the timeshare was sold to him, the representations that were made by the resort in the sale of the timeshare to the client and the timeshare itself – all warranted compensation.

This is just a light blow, ex CEO of Wyndham Resorts, Mr Hanning, was awarded 3.4 million dollars in severance by Wyndham Resorts.  Furthermore, they were also found guilty of unfair dismissal and Mr Hanning was awarded an additional 20-million-dollars.  This of course did not give the resort good publicity, if this is how they treat their employees, imagine how they treat their customers.

A lot of speculation has surrounded Mr Hanning’s “pay off” as it was reported that he had worked for Wyndham or its predecessor for 35 years and had decided to walk away from the company with the 3.4 million, leaving many to think that Mr Hanning may have known about other breaches that the company had made against the people who had purchased at this resort and this was paid as “hush money”.
