Over the years this ‘claim company’ has raised its head, in the Timeshare industry. The word ‘company’ used lightly. Would you trust a company now a days that has no website? At least not searchable under the company name they give to their prospective clients. Neither the email address or telephone number provided in any correspondence can be found on the Internet. Odd, you would think of a ‘legitimate’ scheme to not have a presence on the World Wide Web.

Apart from the obvious failure of presence, you would at least think that there would be a static office for clients to meet at, but it has been brought to ones attention that the phone number that is used in correspondence is indeed a Spanish landline. With meetings being offered in hotels around Britain to get clients to sign up to a ‘no win no fee’ retribution for entering into the timeshare world in the first place. On further investigation, there are no companies registered under this name in either Britain or Spain.

The Refund Action Group summarise their services as ‘we are registering timeshare and points owners on a No Win No Fee basis, for the lawsuit against the timeshare industry’. One would have many doubts that there are no fees or monies to be paid in advance; they offer 1 night’s accommodation for a stay in the hotel that they will see you in. The promise is somewhat vague, ‘against the timeshare industry’, what does this mean exactly? They propose in their correspondence with clients ‘that they are sure the client will undoubtedly be unhappy with their timeshare’, already this seems to be forceful sales behaviour putting words in the clients mouths. A bit of a generalisation, when we all know that there are many people that still love their timeshares, and take advantage of them year in, and year out.

With this said, there is no real proof that the Refund Action Group will not do as they say they will, however, it is a bit of an eye opener. Especially after promising that ‘The meeting with our consultant ……….. does not involve any kind of presentation or sales pitch. WE DO NOT buy, sell or trade in timeshare, points or any holiday products – our Advisors are purely interested in helping YOU to file your CLAIM.’ However in the same correspondence say ‘Should you wish to dispose of your points/timeshare then free legal advice and assistance for a direct legal disposal can be given during your visit.’ Is this not a contradiction to no presentation, and the fact that they are only interested in helping YOU with YOUR claim?

A little piece of advice; to be wary of this type of company when parting with any kind of money, bank card details, or any other details for that matter. You just never know where they might end up.  It would be interesting to hear from anyone that has attended one of these ‘registrations’.
