It seems like yesterday that the MRP slammed its doors shut without any advice or concern for the owners who were non the wiser.

The TCA, like many others, had hoped that this was a terrible oversight and that the owner would be in touch with the consumers to provide full details of their decision along with advice and support for the future.

Well, we are now 7 months since that time and still, there has been no word from any officials.

It is true that we do not have any updates on what is going to happen to the hotel but, what we can report is that the consumers who have found the Madeira Island Blog are taking matters in to their own hands.

This blog started as an article to provide information surrounding the closure. However, it soon attracted the attention of those who were victims of the closure and to date, it hosts over 330 comments.

Reading through the blog, it seems that these comments are from those who are looking for advice on how to proceed and those who want to share the advice that they have received from the likes of the TCA.

The TCA has also provided articles in respect to this matter and how you can proceed;

Again, we reiterate the importance of submitting your relinquishment to the FNTC.

Further to this, if you you paid on credit card, how to utilise the Consumer Credit Act to seek compensation for the breach of contract caused by the closure – See HERE

We encourage anyone caught up in this situation to utilise the Madeira Island Blog and if you require any assistance, contact the TCA who will be more than happy to provide you with further details.
