“You will never find the fraud unless you look”

Attorney General “Chris Koster” based in Jefferson City announced yesterday that Welk Resort Sales, Inc., (a California corporation that sells timeshares in Branson), has entered into an agreement to pay $18,000 in compensatory damages to Missouri consumers who purchased timeshares from “Welk”.

The money will be refunded to many Missouri timeshare consumer victims, additionally any agreement between these consumers and Welk has will have to be scrapped, torn up and binned.

Like many trading standards departments and consumer association in the UK and Spain the USA Attorney General’s Office received (en masse) consumer gripes about Welk’s activities, including misrepresenting the products they sold. Equally the timeshare company lied about the benefits their timeshare ownership would bring.

To many timeshare companies all over the world lie to consumers about the rights they have and more particular the right to cancel and/or terminate the timeshare contract. This advice is tendered by some for a reason and that reason is to provide the advisors with “vast” and elongated consideration into the future, it’s wrong, immoral and unlawful deception. In some countries the practice is supported by others who have an interest in the outcome, they support the bad companies, which can be described as racketeering.

Under a legal; agreement, Welk will be required to ensure that its employees complying with the laws of the state of Missouri, including an assurance that consumers are getting everything that they pay for, and that there are no adverse misrepresentations being made.

If “Welk” breach the terms and/or Fail to meet the terms of the signed agreement it will result in further legal action being taken against them.

Timeshare purchases are a big investment on the part of consumers, who trust that they are being treated fairly by the sellers,” Koster said.  “I am pleased that we were able to obtain restitution for consumers and release them from unwanted contracts.”
