It has been reported that the founder of a timeshare resales company has been sentenced to 37 months behind bars for crimes in timeshare.

David Brandon Ball, 35, and an associate, David Andrew Glynn posed as timeshare agents and approached timeshare owners in a bid to look “eager to help” them get rid of their unwanted properties.

It is believed that they persuaded unsuspecting Consumers to hand over advance funds to cover fees and expenses necessary to close the deal, U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin said.

The report states that Ball and Glynn told Consumers that they had buyers waiting to take the timeshares off their hands. The reality was that the pair knew the timeshare owners would not receive anything in return for money they advanced as. MSR had no buyers.

US Attorney Goodwin stated;

“This guy was stealing money out of both pockets of timeshare owners. He got rich by setting up fake timeshare sales, while at the same time posing as someone who could help fraud victims get their money back. It would be hard to believe if it weren’t true.”

It is also reported that Ball told the court MSR received at least $80,346 from the conspiracy.

Ball also admitted to running a Florida based company, which he called International Transfers and Documents (International Transfers), in 2013 which, like MSR, was created and used to defraud timeshare owners. This Florida scheme reportedly tricked victims out of more than $145,000,

As part of his plea deal, Ball must make nearly $211,000 in compensation to the victims of MSR and International Transfers.

Goodwins closing statement was;

““I’m happy to say this crook is heading to federal prison,”
