TATOC is continuing its international expansion with the affiliation of American Resorts International’s Holiday Network (ARI).

Based in Chicago, the business built, marketed and now manages two legacy resorts near Salzburg, Austria. The majority of owners are based in the U.S. and use their ownership primarily for exchange purposes.

Alpenland St Johann im Pongau has 143 apartments, four gourmet restaurants and a wide range of leisure facilities including an indoor swimming pool and fitness centre.

Alpenland Maria Alm has 84 apartments, two gourmet restaurants and a stunning indoor pool.

Executive vice president Alain Carr recently spoke at the TATOC annual conference on the importance of legacy resorts learning new sales, marketing and management approaches to survive the challenges facing resorts today.

“All eyes are on the consumer and it is for that reason we have created a variety of products that suit buyers in the various stages of life.  And it is vital that we demonstrate our commitment by aligning ourselves with associations that are doing what is right for the industry and the consumer”, said Alain Carr, “We believe TATOC is the most ideal trade association for this purpose.”

Harry Taylor, TATOC’s executive chairman added: “We were delighted that Alain was able to speak at the conference and confirm his company’s wish to affiliate with TATOC. His presentation made it very clear that legacy resorts like his need to adapt or die and this is something TATOC is passionate about. We look forward to working with Alain and his team in the future and will watch their progress with great interest.”

As affiliates of TATOC, ARI will adhere to the TATOC Code of Conduct issued in August 2011 and the association’s code of ethics. All companies wishing to affiliate to TATOC are thoroughly vetted beforehand and continually monitored. Further details of the code of conduct can be found on the Association’s website (www.tatoc.co.uk).

The Timeshare Association (Timeshare Owners and Committees), known as TATOC, was formed in 1989 and is the only elected consumer association representing the interests of timeshare owners in Europe.

Launched five years ago, TATOC affiliation was developed to provide a directory of suppliers of services such as marketing, exchange and re-sale to the timeshare industry in Europe.

TATOC member resorts looking to purchase such services for their own operations and to recommend to their members can work with these businesses safe in the knowledge they are regularly assessed to ensure the highest levels of customer service.

Today there are over 30 affiliated companies offering high quality, customer-focused products and services to the timeshare industry. TATOC affiliation has given these companies the edge when competing with other non-affiliated businesses.
