Diamond Resorts International (DRI) is a vacation ownership (similar to a Holiday club or a timeshare), DRI allows people to purchase a timeshare interest in 89 managed resorts and 163 affiliated resorts.
Many of the timeshare they offer where once owned by Sunterra resorts.
In addition, they say they operate four cruise itineraries through DRI timeshare exchange.
DRI global headquarters at Charleston Blvd. Las Vegas, Nevada.It claims to be “one of the largest hospitality companies in the world”.Presently DRI claim it has more than 490,000 owners and members.

Diamond resorts have been no stranger to controversy with existing timeshare owners in the UK and Europe.
Complaints
In the UK there have been many complaints about high and excessive maintenance fees, Points foreclosure procedure (due to maintenance fees delinquency).
Diamond Resorts had a policy of not allowing points owners to forfeit their points when they are not able to pay the maintenance fees that increase every year.
Simon Jackson the present incumbent at MRL spent a year and 10 months at “Suntarra” which was once owned by Diamond. He then was announced as the needy big hitter at MacDonalds Resorts.
Big hitter he has turned out to be some would say?
When Diamond Resorts bought Sunterra there was a report that a request from the Chairman of Diamond Resorts stated “try to obliterate the name of Sunterra as its bad publicity the name.
It is claimed that the administrator of timeshare talk agreed to the request to obliterate the name Sunterra from its forums in order to allow DRI to run their business without being tainted by connections with The Former Company.
That all said DRI appears (no, I should say are) is making strides in changing its past image or the image it inherited. Some consumers still have underlining issues (as expected) and after a few enquiries it is clear that Diamond avoid unnecessary confrontation if good legal council has been obtained.
Under the chairmanship of Mr.Cloobeck Diamond Resorts are changing fast, have done much to restore the confidence and poise and in their particular products and consumer friendliness. It is claimed that DRI have led the way towards reform with some innovations and changes that benefit both the company and their members.
This change is by choice and has not gone unnoticed by many.
