In timeshare there are a bunch of people who know there is something particular wrong with the timeshare industry and the people who purport to represent it.

I believe this bunch of People amounts to the vast majority of Timeshare owners.

In saying this I cannot say we at the TCA have everything absolutely right in all aspects of the timeshare industry that would be bordering on the absurd. That said, I believe we are right in that a vast number of timeshare consumers want real change and that desire for change is a foundational consensus.

The actual methodology of getting change ought to be thrashed out and actively sought so the agreed goal (change) happens.

I am sure that foundation and agreement encompasses all of the following:-

Timeshare is a great idea!

It could be a great way to enjoy holidays!

It could be a cheap way of visiting many resorts all over the world!

It could encourage friendships and interest groups!

And

A vast amount more.

I am further certain that Consumer Agrees:-

To construct a resort the developer should be rewarded.

That the industry should be able to receive good profits for good services rendered.

That maintenance companies have fair contracts – tendered and accounted for also, whereby everything is open.

Owners should be able access industry information and clubs should exist to test the industry and industry providers.

That people who effectively contribute to the running of the resorts should be rewarded

That timeshare can be exchanged in a market, whereby the timeshare week can be easily bought and sold.

The providers of a service have to accept that people will discuss, achieve and action change in their own unique way and to achieve their own goals.

That all being said: The TCA doesn’t expect to please everyone or that everything we do will sit well and in full agreement with everybody’s views, however the goals we share are the same.

Therefore to obtain change we need action and it’s that action which has to come from consumers.

Consumers are great at chatting on web/ blog sites, however those practices do not obtain change. In truth it dilutes passion, contaminates ideas and homogenises some bad with good, which can only result in a bad and stale pie.

I therefore encourage consumers to act with a view of getting good and permanent change. If something is wrong – tell the authorities, if something is bad – tell your local/County Councillor, MP, Citizens Advice, the Police force. If enough of you vote with action then you will get what you want. Permanent and lasting change!

The problem is mindset, in that you don’t think you will make a difference or that it’s best left to others. As Timeshare is your property and that property attracts yearly fees, I would say it is not best left to others as it’s your pocket it affects or your asset which is being lifted.

In respect to the Resorts and Developers they employ doers and shakers, planners and forecasters. All of them act, they don’t go on blog sites, they have a task and they get on with it with a defined structure. Consumers have no structure, no central point and can’t act, so the mindset is the opposite, leaving just chatting and blogging. Some consumer expect others to do the work and get them change, well that just being lazy!

Clearly everyone agrees the industry is fraught with problems and this industry attracts thieves and criminals and those thieves and criminals prey on consumers one by one.

Consider if it is happening to someone else now, then you will be next, so help your neighbouras it will eventually be your turn. Maybe not today, not tomorrow, however you will want to sell at some point, you will want an exit and that’s when your real problems start.

It’s irrelevant that you have always paid the ever increasing fees or the fact that you have been good a customer. Some don’t give a hoot you have never complained or have been nice and respectable. The fact is you want out which mean you want to stop their gravy train.

Suddenly a myriad of calls start, saying they can help you get out. You have to ask “how the devil did these cold callers get my number?”. When you have been scammed a few times you then pay the resort to either get out or you end up being sold something else you did not want.

That all said if you love the timeshare and have abided by the advice of a timesharetalk blogger.

“Timeshare is a great concept and you will enjoy a lifetime of holiday experiences as long as you own the right product to suit your holiday style and take the time out to do a little homework”.

You would think you are safe. Well you’re not as the advice is abundantly wrong!

Some many thousands of people have done as timesharetalks (TTB) bloggers has suggested and they are having their timeshare systematically taken off them and against their will.

That’s right the consumer bought it, have paid for it and own it yet resorts are taking them back, why, because it’s profitable for them. The horror is that little is said about the rouse and TTB says nothing in open condemnation.

What TTB does say is:-

It is my opinion that those Timeshare Companies that have the consumers interests at heart, should be working together and what has been said or done in the past should be set aside and we should have a line drawn and start to talk and work positively together on the same page. The Industry will work more effectively sharing a collective experience for the benefit of the consumer and the Industry”

I am stunned, this has happening time and time again to consumers and is happening now to this bloggers fellow timeshare owners and he just wants to forgive and forget the past and the present.

The blogger suggests the TCA is radical to expect people are treated fairly. Is it a wrongful mission or a delusion i am under? Such statements are abscesses in the industry.

The same blogger stands by and reports nothing from his weekly news paper in defence of consumers, in short the present consumer plight does not even cop mush of a mention.

That said the blogger is enriched by the alleged great deeds of KwikChex.

websitehttp://www.timesharetaskforce.org/timeshare-task-force-hitting-targets/
He says:”It is good to see results being achieved, as we all need to work together to benefit the Industry.

Firstly Kwik Chex have never published its projected or forcasted target, therefore the accolades they claim are simply not justified in any domain, therefore no one can say “good results are being achieved” Not even the blogger, he is entirely deluded and is attempting to delude the Timeshare consumer.

The blogger also says “trying to group RDO and TATOC under the same roof I think it will be found there barking up the wrong tree”.

He is right on this one as there are a lot of others under the industry tree and it certainly appears this blogger intends to stop gravelling the RDO driveway in exchange for sitting on a industry tree branch.

Since the explosion of timeshare bad boys and evil elements have existed and when challenged about the filth which exists the industry some croaking clots spout the same rapture in that “we are doing something”, “they are acting for us and in our best interest”  , “things are changing and getting better”. When in truth nothing is happening and the pond still has a stench.

In short if the cow pat pongs the flies will keep coming over and over again.

I wonder how many CEOs or Managing Directors return home to friends and family and are proud of the Timeshare industry they are in and support.

Sometimes there are two side even three, four or five sides and sometimes there is just one and working together is simply wrong if the past wrong doers persist. I for one need to see an act of real contrition before forgiveness is warranted.
