News has reached us of yet another cold caller, this time Lex Litigation. Our enquirer was called regarding his ownership with Anfi, first off, he didn’t instigate the contact and secondly, how did Lex Litigation even know he was an owner at Anfi?

Naturally when we hear of a new cold caller, the investigation team swing into action, below is what they found.

TCA investigation

The first port of call was the company, and yes there is one. According to Companies House the company was formed on the 23rd May 2023 so around 6 months old as we write. The sole Director is quoted as Theodor Alexandru Nicolaescu showing as a Romanian national.

The registered address of the company is listed as 2nd Floor, College House, 17 King Edwards Road, Ruislip, London, United Kingdom, HA4 7AE. A quick on Endole Suite shows 5,164 companies registered at that address leading us to believe this is merely a virtual office.

Confirmation of this may be found because resident at exactly the same address is a company named Mint Formations. This is a company formation organisation that also offers both registered office services and Director Services:

The website

Our first port of call was to check the domain name. The domain was registered on 16th May 2023 roughly in line with the formation of the company. As per usual, the registrar is hidden behind a privacy field.

As for content, once again we see a site that is focused on contract problem resolution. Nowhere on the site is any real reference to timeshare, with the exception of one line:

“The contract is unfair e.g. in perpetuity clauses”

In the “about us” section there is one more reference to timeshare:

The website contains a testimonial section which, considering how long this company has been in existence, would suggest they are all fake.

Turning to the contact telephone number, Ofcom records show that numbers starting 0203 137 are allocated to Telephony Services Limited. Telephony Services Ltd offer Voice over Internet Protocol numbers (VoIP) meaning that calls could be emanating from anywhere in the world. A question we would ask is why a company based in Ruislip, Middlesex, where the dialling code is 01895, have a London telephone number?

As a final point, the website shows no information relative to the company registration. Although the site has a privacy policy there are no terms of use or cookie opt out facility, both legal requirements.

TCA comment

According to Collins English Dictionary, Lex means a system or body of laws or a particular specified law we have to wonder how many laws this outfit are breaking. So we have a company barely 6 months old, working from an office that appears to be shared with over 5,000 companies. A London telephone number when it should be a Ruislip, Middx number. A website that barely mentions timeshare and yet cold calls focus on timeshare.

All in all, nothing adds up therefore if you are contacted by this firm we would suggest you exercise extreme caution.
