Last Saturday 13th May saw a lot of disruption at Wimpens’ Tenerife resort Los Claveles.  Police were there to meet the new management group ‘Onagrup’ whom were being forceful with the elderly long-term owners.  Onagrup took over the management contract of Los Claveles in Los Cristianos, Tenerife when it bought the management company WimPen Leisure Management SA in 2015.  This take over was not authorised by any of the present owners in the Timeshare resort, and came of somewhat of a surprise.

They instantly had issues at the resort with the way that the take-over was handled and the owners used arbitrators to handle the dispute at hand.  However, their contract with Wimpen came to an end last week, and Onagrup refused to take heed of this and continued to use their bullying tactics, attempting to not allow the owners entry into the resort.  There were a lot of suits and police in the front carpark of the resort at 11am on the Saturday.  Led by the president, and long term owner Mrs Carol Parkinson to defend the owners on arrival.

The management group was attempting to force the payment of maintenance fees to WimPen on arrival at the resort, even though their maintenance was up-to-date and paid to the administrator.  It seems, however, after this disruption last week that it has all gone quiet again at the resort.  The owners seemed to get into their units, after a face-off between Onagrup and the president with the national police.

However, we believe this will not be the last that there is to hear on the Los Claveles front, the management of the resort has always been handled well in the past, and the resort is fortunate enough to have many long standing owners whom are now worried about the future of the resort.  More will come to fruition at the AGM to be held next month.

We would like to hear from anyone that has just returned from their holiday after this disruption last weekend.  If any owners have any information that they would like to share in respect of their experience on arrival last week, we would be very keen to hear from you on the contact details below.
