In recent months we here at TCA have been made aware of a vast increase of cold call’s from companies all over the world claiming to be able to recoup monies that owners may have been cheated out of while purchasing timeshare.

The latest in this type of calls have originated from Athens on telephone number 00306955852399 from a very well informed lady who introduces herself as Anna Bakas. She states she is employed by the Court of Cassatio in Athens and then continues to supply information regarding the previous frauds the owners have suffered with whatever timeshare the owner had been scammed through, making the owner think it is a legitimate claim.

From then on Anna explains that the case which has been brought to light by a Greek bank, has ruled AGAINST the timeshare company and they are being compelled to refund all monies back to the victims.

Here comes the catch, to process the claim and to reimburse the money each claimant must pay the tax of 5% on any funds awarded. This payment is requested prior to the owner being reimbursed with their funds, and must be paid through Money Gram in the name of Buci Hider. These details are provided to the owner from an email from Anna using email address minister@minfin-gr.org. The email is made to look official with the logo for the Greek republic embossed on the document.

These owners were under the impression they were going to receive thousands, so to pay Greece the tax duty on the money they are to receive is the least they could do right?

One must be very skeptical in this situation, does one think that with no prior warning or request for authorisation to fight your claim, someone will just call you up out of the blue to give you back the thousands you were ripped off?

Please be diligent and make sure you are safe and secure in any endeavor of this nature, If it smells to good to be true, it probably is.

If you or anyone you know has been affected by these calls from Anna Bakas in Athens or anything of a similar nature, please let us know.
