After an investigation completed by the Better Business Bureau it has been revealed that South Park Resorts a ficticious resale company who on record are based out of Amarillo, Texas have been purposely deceiving potential clients out of their hard earned cash by demanding up front fees in connection to the purchase of their Timeshare Ownership.

Many consumers all over the country began to get suspicious when the company who claim to buy your timeshare outright ceased contact soon after receiving the $175 fee which they advised was to cover taxes, a title search and also transfer costs. After being instructed to use the “money in minutes” option on the wire transfer as a speedy alternate to the next day option, the cash is then wired to an account in Daytona, Florida. When this was questioned by one unwitting client they were informed the company had their headquarters in Daytona.

The thorough investigation found that although the company state they are situated at an address on Bell Street, Amarillo, Texas they are not known at that premises and any mail is returned to sender as unknown at that address. After further attempts to gain contact both by call and email the company is completely unresponsive.

With additional examination into how the company contacted these unsuspecting victims, Better Business Bureau found that all were contacted by either email or cold call consisting of:

“Thank you for allowing our Company to present you with our clients Signed offer to Purchase your Vacation Property.”
Included is a formal letter and signed contract, but once the money has been sent phone calls and contact from the company cease.

On tracing the email Better Business Bureau uncovered an individual named Gary Stone with a contact number of 806-318-8132 who the emails and calls had been routed through and with again no response clients became increasingly worried. The website for the company, South Park Resorts claims an address of 5901 Bell St., Amarillo, TX 79109. This address is part of a shopping mall where unit numbers are part of the address. No unit number is provided for South Park Resorts.

On review of the contracts forwarded it is noted that each contract varies ever so slightly and that the clients name and address are never stated, yet all contracts are dated the same date and all show Sandy Carlin as the buyer and shows his deposit of $3500.
This information is yet another blow to the consumer showing that you must be hyper vigilant when being solicited to sell your timeshare.
We at TCA recommend :- NEVER agree to anything on the phone or online until you’ve had a chance to check out the company in question. Additionally search online for reviews and complaints and ALWAYS request all the information in writing before signing anything.
