The Madeira Regency Palace closed its door on the 30th June this year due to financial difficulties.

Just before the closure, one email communication was sent to some of the owners advising that they “may” be closing. Since then there hasn’t been any communications which is understandably making the owners nervous. From our own investigations we believe that the hotel is still in Administration.

The TCA has previously written articles on this subject and is always available to provide free advice. What is good to see is that that the timeshare owners who are fed up with sitting in the dark waiting, have come together  by way of a blog site.

The Madeira Island Blog – http://madeiraislanddirect.com/blog/2015/04/regency-palace-hotel-to-close/ reported earlier this year about the closure of the hotel. This proved to be a popular story and the victims of the closure soon began to comment on the article with their own experiences.

To date there have been over 200 comments on the article making it a great support tool for the owners.

The main topic has been ‘compensation’

By sharing their stories it has enabled others to take he steps that they previously might not have had to confidence to take.

If you are at a loss and would like to discuss your situation with others in your position, the TCA suggests visiting the Madeira Island Blog.

If you would like to discuss your options then please also feel free to call the TCA
