The complaints “merry go round”

Can a consumer complain –yes

Is there any point complaining? (you decide)

Assume the complaint is about a timeshare resort or how you were sold your timeshare or indeed the purported Timeshare industry activities.

You should first tell the institution you have a grievance with, if they will not assist you (as it might affect their objectives) you can go to TATOC who claim to be independent and who claim they represent over 350,000 consumers.

In saying that they are sponsored by the very industry you might be complaining about.

If you are still not happy, you can seek independent advice from the sign post service of the citizens advice, however they will send you back to the very people who you are complaining about.

However if you approached the Citizens advice they will inform you they they have obtained the right place to seek timeshare advice directly from the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA).

So we wrote to the CMA and they said:-

Thank you for contacting the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) and we will respond to your email shortly. However, we are unable to enter into correspondence about every individual complaint and you should be aware that the CMA will not be able to intervene if you have a dispute with an individual company. In such cases, the following organisations may be able to help you:

For consumer complaints and advice – the Citizens Advice Consumer Service www.adviceguide.org.uk or 08454 04 05 06.

“The Merry go round”

Every MP, County Council, advice line, and advice centre send you back to the very institutions you are complaining about. Is that British? Do Consumers have a friend? Is this the miserable meal that consumers deserve in timeshare? Is this independent or is it totalitarianism?

For more information regarding this article or assistance in any other timeshare related issues please contact the TCA on 01908 881058 or email: info@TimeshareConsumerAssociation.org.uk
