Previously, I had asked that the AGM be delayed, so that we could get an alternative proposal ready – Macdonald’s refused saying that it was too late to change the date.
Recently, D***********’ proposed that his alternatives be communicated to all owners in the AGM pack – Macdonald’s have refused, saying that it is too late to get the information printed.
Many have argued that the Club Committee should have access to the database of owner details – Macdonald’s have refused citing Data Protection legislation!
There is absolutely no need for an SGM to be called until after the EU legislation is published either late 2014 or early 2015 – but Macdonald’s are heaping pressure on the committee to get the SGM over and done with quickly.
My mind goes back to the dark days of the Soviet Union in the mid-20th century, when the response of the Supreme Soviet in Moscow to any dissident state (like Hungary in 1956 and Czechoslovakia in 1968) was to crush the revolution.
Have we really succumbed to the Stalinist despotism of Donald MacDonald and the Aviemore Politburo? Where committees are allowed to run the satellite resorts, so long as they only toe the party line?
Is that what our timeshare ownership has been reduced to? If so, we need our own “velvet” or “orange” revolution to bring down this unholy dictatorship!
