Timeshare resorts have ground breaking and spectacular plans afoot. This bounty has inlaid balance sheet lifts and is designed to give all Silverpoint investors a welcome lift out of the doldrums of recession.

As with all deals there are winners and losers. On this occasion the losers are the timeshare owners, again.

Silverpoint recently promoted the transfer of fixed weeks to floating weeks and dressed the matter as a great and wonderful good. The consumer would get greater flexibility – wise and kind words and a wonderful thought. No wonder they hold the high accolade of platinum members of TATOC.

The ones who handed in the fixed weeks and dare I say, paid to do so. now know what has happened.

If the deal which MRL have tendered is fair, groundbreaking and a landmark, then it will attract the same accolade if the parties are reversed.

Example: if it was a Wimpen deal or Silverpoint’s deal the offer would be the same, it’s just different parties.

So if you reverse the parties and make it a consumer offer to MRL, it’s the same deal. Do you agree, do MRL and TATOC agree?
