We have received a number of enquiries in respect to the news article published on the 12/6/2014.

We stand by the advice fully. As of yet we have received no information from any source that would change our view.

In respect to companies who operate the scheme, our report and advice is in no way a conformation that The Timeshare Consumer Association Ltd, (in part or whole) agrees with any sales approaches which resort companies practice. To avoid doubt on this issue, we do not sanction the use of leisure vouches in any timeshare sales.

We find the practise worthy of consumer caution and investigation.  We see no real reasons behind the necessity in the exchange of a consumer’s homeland currency into what is a restrictive currency which might not be regulated.

In respect to “mindtimeshare” we at The Timeshare Consumer Association retain the view that they do an excellent job in the protection of consumers both here and on the continent and sincerely hope that there is a continuance of the service they provide.

In respect to the UK ECC we accept that our advice conflicts with theirs, however we stand by our investigation as to the issues raised. That said, like all reasonable people we are prepared to re visit the issue of Leisure Credit Vouchers if and when either the need arises or there is evidence which is new to the issue and conflicts with the advice we gave.

We believe that the advice rendered to the timeshare public is appropriate so that the public can obtain a refund in the event that they are mis-sold timeshare and do so by the appropriate UE Regulations.
