Only last week we reported on a scam company hiding behind a real Spanish law firm. In this article we exposed the fake version of Ardaga Abogados, this week it’s the turn of JR Abogados. Again we find a genuine law firm in Madrid, whose identity is being used without their knowledge, let’s take a deeper look.

Basically, if you take the trouble to read the article referred to above you will find a mirror image of the scam being perpetrated by the so called JR Abogados. Once again we see fake court documents and fake email addresses. On perusal of the court documents the claim is against Mcdonald Resorts SL. Not only does this company not exist but the spelling is also incorrect. The real company is MacDonald Resorts Spain SA, note Mac not Mc. The documents sent also mention Anfi SL as per the previous incarnation. One would assume that a court document would have accurate information, not so in both cases.

Our enquirer disposed of his ownership long before MacDonald were on the scene when the resort was owned by Barratt, so how can MacDonald be taken to court? Those with eagle eyes will also note that the font used for personalisation is smaller than the body of the documents thus indicating a cut and paste exercise.

The banner heading to this article shows the correct contact number for the real lawyers, nowhere on the fake documentation does this number show, no surprise there, the last thing these scammers want is for their “marks” to call the real firm.

As per the last article we attach below the redacted documentation sent to our enquirer.

Final Thoughts

As we said in the previous article these scammers are getting smarter by the minute, and again, as per the previous article, we have reported our findings to the real company who no doubt will take the appropriate action.

Please be aware, if you have had no involvement in any form of legal action then it hasn’t or won’t take place. As a plaintiff you would certainly have involvement in any legal action long before it comes to court. Also beware of cold calls that arrive out of the blue telling you there is money owing from court cases that you didn’t know existed. This particularly applies if you have already exited your timeshare or related product.

In this case the court award was for the sum of €9,934 and all the “mark” has to pay is €791 to the court procurator. Once paid they have you on the hook, further demands will be made for nefarious reasons and in the end many thousands will have past hands with no award ever being paid.

Don’t fall for this as the only winner will be the scammers.
