Once again, we have been contacted by clients who have been receiving unsolicited calls from a scam company going buy the name of Sure Legal.  This whole scenario sounds very similar to a scam we reported on a few weeks ago, please read on to ensure you do not get caught out.

It appears agents from this ´made up´ company, going by the names of Sarah Porter or Suzanne Wilson, are calling unsuspecting clients to inform them that last year there was a court case against their resort, usually DWVC, ILG or Club Class, andthat as a result of winning the case they are going to be awarded a large sum of money.  The number they are calling from is 01274 792844 so please programme this into your phones under the heading of Scammers!

The really sneaky part is that Sarah & Suzanne, if those are their real names, are using a business name that is almost exactly the same as that of a genuine company, registered on Companies House as Sure Legal Ltd.   Therefore, if the client decides to do a little research into the company on the internet, they will come across details of the real company and mistakenly believe they are dealing with bona fide people and therefore happy to listen to the false promises and ultimately go ahead and part with their hard earned money.

Now obviously there has been no winning court case against these now defunct companies and no monies have been put aside by the courts into a Trustee Account.  There are certainly no monies waiting for these clients to claim through Sure Legal.

As usual there is the money pitch, our contact is being called on an almost daily basis as apparently, she has won £5800 and all she has to do is pay Sure Legal £480 UP FRONT to receive her ´winnings´. This is to contract Sure Legal for their services and the money will then be transferred to the clients account.  As always, does it ´sound too good to be true´? Well then it most certainly is!

Once a client has paid over their money, they do not receive any emails to confirm the conversation they have had with Sarah or Suzanne, nodocumentation for signature and most certainly no money is transferred.

Our best advice is to never pay money over the phone to cold callers, no genuine solicitor is going to cold call you, or take payment from you over the phone, certainly not without sending you paperwork or a contract to sign, because you will never see your money again.

If you have been contacted by Sure Legal or have any questions about someone who has called, please do not hesitate to contact us.
