After all the complaints KwikChex have submitted to the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) and Committees of Advertising Practice (CAP) about advertisements made by non-Resort Development Organisation (RDO) members or non-Timeshare Association for Timeshare Owners and Committees (TATOC) members, one would have hoped they would have checked their own website first for inflated claims.

Kwikchex has been instructed to remove its self-claimed acclamation of being a “World-leading Online Reputation and Reassurance Services” by the ASA.

After reviewing the claim made by Kwikchex’s, the ASA have upheld a challenge of Kwikchex’s statement and instructed them to revise the wording as the foremost statement was found to be unproven, leading and not factually correct.

The ASA have a hard time accepting “World Leading” statements being proclaimed in any type of advertising, so it came as no surprise when Kwikchex was instructed to reword their previous claim of being a “World-leading Online Reputation and Reassurance Services” and having to opt for the less glorified “world-renowned”, renowned being another word for popular.

The view of the ASA is that Kwikchex is not the market leader and making such claims can be considered being deceitful.
