Along with the countless evacuations and complete destruction caused by Storm Desmond over the last several days, a hotel and timeshare resort in Cumbria has suffered a massive blow. The floods are reported to have swept into its bar, restaurant, leisure centre and timeshare units.

The 4* rated hotel, with an award winning AA Rosette restaurant which boasts 38 luxury en-suite bedrooms is situated in Lakeland Village, Backbarrow, was forced to evacuate its timeshare owners amid fears that they would be in serious danger if left to brave the storm.

Some would say, that you should all just be thankful that you have escaped unscathed.  In the event that, that is not enough. We can provide the below advice:

For any consumers who have time booked at this resort or any others within Cumbria that have been affected by the recent storms. The TCA advises to firstly contact the hotel. Many will be dealing as best they can in the circumstances and will be able to offer alternate accommodation or dates. Others who have been completely destroyed by the storm, should offer a route of compensation – i.e. a later booking to enable them to recover or a release of any upcoming fees.
